We are a charitable organisation and we work really hard to access funding via grants and donations to ensure we can keep our costs as low as possible.
Cancellation Policy
We have a large wait list for therapy and support so we really appreciate receiving as much notice as possible if you cannot attend your session.
Our therapists are committed to providing a high-quality service to all clients. To support this, we ask that you make every effort to attend your scheduled appointments. If you do need to cancel due to illness or an emergency, please let us know as soon as possible – early communication is always appreciated.
As demand for our services is high, it may not be possible to reschedule cancelled appointments within the same week or fortnight.
Why attendance matters:
To support your progress: Attending sessions regularly, as negotiated with your therapist, is important to achieve progress. Irregular attendance can slow progress and limit how effective therapy is.
To be fair to others: START has a long list of people waiting to have therapy. When appointments are cancelled at short notice, it is usually not possible to fill that time slot. We are only able to offer places to clients on our waitlist when a regular, ongoing appointment time is available for them.

| Less than 24 hours’ notice: | 50% of the session fee* |
| No show or less than 1 hours’ notice: | 100% of the session fee* |
| *Fees are rounded up to the nearest $5 and are based on the agreed session rate. For example, if your session fee is $70, the fee would be $20 for 24–48 hours’ notice and $35 for less than 24 hours’ notice. |
